1936 - Delmar Allen (Dale) Hawkins was born on this day. Rockabilly singer and guitarist from Goldmine, Louisiana. Often called the architect of swamp rock boogie. He had a hit with 'Suzie Q' that reached #7 on the Billboard R&B charts. He became a successful producer and was recognized by the Rockabilly Hall of Fame. Dale died on February 13, 2010.
