1917 - Rodney Richardson was born on this day. A legendary Jazz bassist and a native of New Orleans, Louisiana. During his career he recorded with the legends of jazz that included Lester Young, Count Basie, Nat King Cole, Duke Ellington, Coleman Hawkins and others. He passed away in 2005 at 88.
