| 1910 - Dave Oxley was born on this day. Traditional drummer and vocalist from New Orleans, Louisiana. He was a regular in George Lewis' band, and also played with Papa Celestin, Joe Robichaux, Kid Howard and Henry Hardin. He also toured with Bessie Smith. Dave died in New Orleans on July 20, 1974. |
