1933 - Jessie L. (Jay) Stutes Sr. was born on this day. A multi-instrumentalist and a native of Morse, Louisiana. During his musical career he played with Jimmy Newman, Jo-El Sonnier, Lawrence Walker, Wayne Toups, Doug Kershaw, and others. He wrote the song "Boss Man" which is now in the Smithsonian Institute. He became a member of the Cajun French Music Association Hall of Fame in 1999. He passed away in 2000 at the age of 66. |
