2000 - Saunders King, a blues singer and guitarist from Staples, Louisiana passed away on this day. King made it to the R&B charts twice in his career with the group 'Saunders King and his Orchestra'. His daughter was married to Carlos Santana and Saunders performed with him in 1979.
