1926 - Phillip Guilbeau was born on this day. A trumpeter and a native of Lafayette, Louisiana. During his career, he's played most notably with Ray Charles. He was well-known in the Washington DC area, and also did stints with Count Basie, Otis Redding, Frank Sinatra and others. He passed away in 2005.
