1927 - Stan (The Record Man) Lewis was born on this day. A record shop and record label owner from Shreveport, Louisiana. He founded three the Jewel, Paula, and Ronn record labels in the 1960's, and produced dozens of groups that were mostly R&B and Blues genre. Among the groups he produced, signed or recorded was John Fred and his Playboy Band, The Uniques, The Montclairs, Blind Boys, the Soul Stirrers, Ted Taylor, Fontella Bass and Lightnin' Hopkins to name a few.
