1907 - Albert Artigues was born on this day. Traditional jazz cornetist and trumpeter from New Orleans. He was the leader of the 'French Market Gang' that played for informal functions. Artigues band was a joyful one and often the best dixieland players would sit in. Albert died in June, 1980.
