1989 - Clement Tervalon, a traditional jazz string bassist and trombonist from New Orleans, Louisiana passed away on this day at 74. He was primarily associated with the bands of Octave Crosby in the forties and fifties. He was also a member of the 'Young Tuxedo Brass Band', and led a band on Bourbon Street in the 1960's.
