1912 - Lumas Hamilton was born on this day. Traditional jazz trumpeter and cornetist from New Orleans, Louisiana. His father, 'Pop' Hamilton was a jazz pioneer. Lumas played in the 'Lyons Brass Band' when his father was the leader. He also played in the 'Pop Hamilton Orchestra' with his father.
