1937 - Alvin 'Shine' Robinson was born on this day. A New Orleans native guitarist and one of the most soulful singers ever heard. He made it to the R&B charts with his version of "Something You Got". He was part of Dr. John's Band in Los Angeles in the 1970's. Shine died on January 24, 1989 at the age of 51.
