1901 - J. B. (Jean Batiste) Fuselier was born on this day. A cajun fiddler and a native of Oberlin, Louisiana. He's most remembered for his tune "Ma Chere Bassette." In the 1930s, he recorded many records with Victor Records under banjoist Beethoven Miller's Merrymakers. After that, he played for many years with the group J. B. and His Merrymakers. He played up until his death in 1976 at the age of 75. |
