1895 - Jerome 'Pork Chop' Smith was born on this day. Traditional jazz drummer who performed with Sam Morgan and Kid Rena in the New Orleans area in the 1920's. He moved to Chicago in the late 1920's, and played with Lee Collins, Eurreal Montgomery and Natty Dominique.
