1892 - Johnny Dedroit was born on this day. Jazz trumpeter from New Orleans, Louisiana. He formed half of a musical family, as his brother Paul, was a drummer in the area. He led a popular dance band in the Crescent City for nearly forty years. He passed away on February 13, 1986 at the age of 93.
