1929 - Johnny Fuller was born on this day. West Coast blues singer who was a native of Mossissippi. He mostly recorded sides in the 1950's for the Heritage, Aladdin, Specialty, Flair, Checker, and Hollywood labels, which included sessions with Dave Bartholomew in New Orleans at Cossimo Matassa's studio. His two biggest hits, "All Night Long" and the original version of "The Haunted House". Other than that output he recorded one excellent album in 1974. Johnny passed away in 1985. |
