1997 - August A. 'Dimes' Dupont III passed away on this day in New Orleans at the age of 68.. He was a lifelong resident of New Orleans. He played alto and baritone saxophone with Edgar Blanchard And The Gondoliers and performed with his uncle, guitarist and banjo player Danny Barker. He also, worked with Ray Charles and others.
