1906 - Howard Reed was born on this day. Traditional jazz trumpeter from New Orleans, Louisiana. He began his musical career in 1922 with the 'Extra Half Jazz Band'. Through the 1940's he played with Irving Fazola, and later led his own band until heretired from music in the 1950's.
