1898 - Charles Hartmann was born on this day. Traditional jazz trombonist from New Orleans, Louisiana. Charles was a well-known jazz musician for over thirty years. In his musical career, he played with Johnny Bayersdorffer, Tony Parenti's Liberty Syncopators and Johnny Hyman's Bayou Stompers. He was also the secretary of a local union for a number of years.
