1888 - Alcide 'Slow Drag' Pavageau was born on this day. Guitarist and bassist of traditional jazz from New Orleans. 'Slow Drag' played bass with legends Bunk Johnson and George Lewis in the 40's and 50's. He is said to be the nephew of the authentic voodoo queen, Marie Laveau. 'Slow Drag' passed away on January 19, 1969.
