1947 - Reggie Houston was born on this day. A saxophonist and a native of New Orleans, Louisiana. His father was a bassist and pianist. After his graduation from Southern University, he became a paid employee of the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival and continued that for about 10 years. In 1983 he joined Fats Domino's band and stayed with him for 22 years. He regularly plays with the Charmaine Neville Band, but has relocated to Portland, Oregon.
