1951 - Guy Gelso was born on this day. The drummer for the New Orleans, Louisiana rock group Zebra and a native of California. He came to New Orleans in 1972 and never left. The group has been performing since the mid-1970's at CYO dances, school fairs and local clubs in the New Orleans area. They became very well-known in New York as well as locally. The group signed with Atlantic Records in 1983 and released a handfull of albums. They still perform together sporadically.
