1898 - Adolphe 'Tats' Alexander was born on this day. Traditional jazz clarinetist and saxophonist from New Orleans. He performed or was a member of the 'Tuxedo Brass Band', 'Sidney Desvigne's Orchestra' and Papa Celestin. He was also a member of the 'Eureka Brass Band' in which his father, Adolphe Alexander, Sr. was a cornetist and charter member.
