1973 - Johnny Edwards, jazz drummer from New Orleans, Louisiana died on this day. Johnny was born in New Orleans in 1922. He played with the 'Basin Street Six' and the 'Dukes of Dixieland'. He also performed in bands led by Al Hirt and Pete Fountain. Johnny died in Lorman, Mississippi.
